Shiv Sena, SSP express concern over current situation in J&K

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 22: Shiv Sena(UBT) and Sanik Samaj Party J&K unit expressed their anguish and concern about the prevalent condition in Jammu , highlighting the indifference and apathy of government towards people, attitude of bureaucrats and their management and unprecedented escalation in the militancy in both the regions of JKUT.
During a press conference held at Jammu Press Club today, Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir unit chief Manish Sahni and Sainik Samaj Party chief Colonel S.S. Pathania paid heartfelt tribute to the soldiers who made supreme sacrifice in the recent encounters of Rajouri and Kokernag.
Sahni said in his address that for the last 35 years we have been burning in the flame of terrorism. After Pulwama, perhaps the biggest terrorist attack was in Kokernag of Kashmir, in which Colonel, Major, DSP(J&K police) were martyred. He said that in the last five years, there were around 1000 terrorist attacks in which around 200 soldiers were martyred, although our securityforces gave a befitting reply to terrorism and around 800 terrorists were sent to hell.
He said that the target , killing of comman man and martyrdom of soldiers continues, but it is unfortunate that no major change is being seen at the top level along with fixing any accountability.
Whereas Colonel Pathania said that the Central Government probably does not have any concrete roadmap for restoration of peace and betterment in the state.
Jammu and Kashmir, which has 90 assembly seats and 20 districts, is being run by the Lieutenant Governor along with only one non-local advisor. At the same time, the public is helpless, disappointed and angry due to administrative indifference towards public issues. The arbitrariness of the bureaucracy and lack of communication with the public is at its worst.
The main reason for which is the appointment of non-local officers on top and important positions. They have no doubt on the ability of non-local officers.
Both the leaders jointly asked the central government to nominate a retired Army general as Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir on the lines of Arunachal Pradesh and Ladakh, appoint a retired army officer as security advisor in the interim period , give priority to the appointments of local officers on top and important posts in police and administration. So that the situation in Jammu and Kashmir can be made truly better and people friendly. On this occasion Meenakshi Chibber, Balwant Singh , Varinder Baloria, Amrik Singh , Sunil Dutt were present.
