GDC Hosts Intra-College Declamation Competition on ‘Truth and Non-Violence’ in Tribute to Gandhi Jayanti

Sunderbani, Sept 22: As part of the continued celebrations for Gandhi Jayanti, the NSS unit of Government Degree College Sunderbani, in collaboration with the college’s Road Safety Club, organized an Intra-College Declamation Competition on the topic “Truth and Non-Violence.” The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from NSS volunteers and students, who brought their zeal and passion to make the occasion a resounding success.
The competition was expertly coordinated by Prof. Sheraz Kousser and Prof. Beant Singh, who ensured its smooth execution.
The participants presented their views on the profound principles of truth and non-violence, encapsulating the essence of Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy. The competition provided a platform for students to express their thoughts and insights on these timeless ideals.
The winners of the declamation competition were as follows:
• First Position: Ashutosh Bhagyal
• Second Position: Dheeraj Khajuria
• Third Position: Palvi
A panel of esteemed judges comprising Prof. Sham Lal, Supriya Sharma, and Prof. Rajneesh evaluated the participants’ speeches, providing valuable feedback and determining the winners.
The event served as a fitting tribute to Mahatma Gandhi’s enduring legacy and his unwavering commitment to truth and non-violence as powerful tools for social change. It also showcased the students’ dedication to understanding and propagating these principles in today’s world.
The college community, including the NSS unit and the Road Safety Club, played a pivotal role in organizing and conducting this meaningful event, emphasizing the importance of keeping Gandhi’s ideals alive for future generations.
