Aashuutosh Mahajan of DPS clinches best batsman, man of series Awards in U-19 cricket tournament victory

Jammu, Sept 22: In a remarkable display of cricketing prowess, Aashuutosh Mahajan (XI-G), a young cricketer and Sports Captain from Delhi Public School (DPS) Jammu, has been honored with the prestigious titles of "Best Batsman" and "Man of the Series." His exemplary performance played a pivotal role in leading the Jammu Cricket Team to victory in the Inter-Zonal U-19 Cricket Tournament.
The tournament, organized by the District Youth Services and Sports, was held at Khelgaon, Nagrota, on September 21, 2023. Aashuutosh's captaincy proved instrumental as the team emerged victorious in the fiercely contested competition.
Aashuutosh's impressive batting skills were on full display as he accumulated a stunning total of 218 runs in just four matches. Additionally, he showcased his versatility by taking three wickets during the tournament. His exceptional contributions to the team's success earned him the coveted "Man of the Series" award.
In recognition of his stellar performance, Aashuutosh Mahajan was also awarded a gold medal and glittering trophies, further adding to his list of accolades.
In another display of sporting excellence, Smriti Sharma of class XI-H secured the first position and a gold medal in the U-17 Archery Competition held at SMVD Sports Complex, Katra, from September 21 to September 22, 2023. Her outstanding achievements were acknowledged with a merit cum participation certificate.
The esteemed management of DPS Jammu, including the honorable President-RCT, Sh. M.K Ajatshatru Singh Ji, the honorable PVC-Dr. Kuwarani Ritu Singh Ji, the honorable Director-Sh. S.S Sodhi Ji, along with Principal-Ms. Ruchi Chabra, extended their heartfelt congratulations to Aashuutosh, Smriti, their proud parents, and their coach, Mr. Sudesh Manhas.
