Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 02- Bar Association Jammu at an emergent meeting today held under the chairmanship of its President Senior Advocate Sunil Sethi decided to suspend work in all the Courts tomorrow in view of the strike call given by the Bar Association of India against the amendments of Section 41 and Section 309 of Cr PC which are anti-public and anti-society.
President BAJ described that the amendments will only give powers to police to negotiate about their illegal demand of gratification for sending the challan without arrest, while the Courts will remain mute spectator to the illegalities of the investigating officer. General Secretary BAJ Rajesh Thappa said that the amendment in the Cr PC will only encourage the criminals and as such the grant of liberty to offender at the cost of life and property of victim and common man is against the basic principles of the Article 21 of Constitution of India. He said the Bar unanimously decided to support strike call given by the Bar Association of India. JNF
