Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 23: Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister, paid heartfelt tributes to Maharaja Hari Singh on the occasion of his 128th birth anniversary.
The programme was organized by Party's District Jammu, South, North and West units at the Party Headquarters in Jammu, where leaders and party members gathered to commemorate the legacy of this visionary leader. Parmod Kapahi, President Jammu District, Rekha Mahajan, President BJP South and Omi Khajuria, President Jammu North, BJYM President, Arun Parbhat and party workers were present.
During his address, Kavinder Gupta acknowledged the pivotal role played by Maharaja Hari Singh in integrating Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of India. He praised the Maharaja for his historic decision to sign the Instrument of Accession, a momentous act that forever linked the region with the Indian Union.
Kavinder emphasized that the people of the Jammu region are eternally grateful to Maharaja Hari Singh for his significant contribution to the nation. He noted that despite the Maharaja's crucial role in shaping the destiny of Jammu and Kashmir, successive regimes had regrettably failed to adequately honor his memory and his contributions to the state.
Highlighting recent developments, Kavinder Gupta pointed out that the establishment of two statues of Maharaja Hari Singh and the creation of Maharaja Hari Park in Jammu were significant achievements. He underscored that these milestones were made possible under the previous government of BJP in J&K.
Gupta credited the success of these initiatives to the proactive efforts of the Bharatiya Janata Party government at the Centre. He praised the BJP's commitment to preserving the rich cultural and historical heritage of the region, as exemplified by these commemorations dedicated to Maharaja Hari Singh.
The event concluded with a pledge to continue honoring the legacy of Maharaja Hari Singh and to work tirelessly for the betterment of Jammu and Kashmir, in line with his vision.
