GDC Budhal marks NSS day 2023 with enthusiasm

BUDHAL, Sept 24: The NSS Unit of Govt. Degree College Budhal celebrated NSS Day 2023 with great enthusiasm and zeal, embracing the spirit of service and community engagement. The event took place under the patronage of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Mohd Mazammal Hussain. The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, a symbol of enlightenment and hope, by the chief guest, guest of honour, Principal of the college, and other esteemed dignitaries. This was followed by Saraswati Vandana and Tilawat, marking the auspicious beginning of the day's festivities.
A warm and formal welcome address was delivered by Ishfaaq Ahmad, Assistant Professor at the college. Dr. Ajaz Hussain Shah, the NSS Program Officer, provided insights into the ongoing and upcoming NSS activities planned for the current academic session.
NSS Volunteers took center stage, showcasing their talents and dedication through rousing speeches, melodious songs, thought-provoking skits, and cultural performances. They also shared their invaluable experiences as volunteers, highlighting the impact of their service on the community.
Colonel Sachin Bandalay, Commanding Officer of 33 RR Budhal (Indian Army), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, he lauded the significant role played by NSS Volunteers and encouraged them to continue their noble work for the betterment of the college and society at large.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Mohd Mazammal Hussain extended heartfelt congratulations to all the participating students and expounded on the aims and objectives of NSS. He urged students to remain steadfast in their commitment to providing voluntary services to both the community and the nation.
The proceedings of the event were efficiently conducted by NSS Volunteer Sania Ajaz, a third-semester BA student, who demonstrated excellent organizational skills.
The successful execution of the event was credited to the efforts of NSS Programme Officer Dr. Ajaz Hussain Shah and Dr. Amarjeet Singh, Convener of the NSS Advisory Committee. Dr. Daya Ram (ANO NCC), Miss Uzma Farooq, Dr. Adil Hussain, along with other teaching and non-teaching staff of the college, were also present to witness and support the celebration.
Dr. Syed Mohmad Javad, Head of the Persian Department and representative of the organizing committee, expressed sincere gratitude to the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour Mrs. Shamim Akhter (BDC Chairperson Budhal), Principal, other distinguished guests, faculty members, NCC Cadets, NSS Volunteers, and participating students for their collective efforts in making the event a resounding success.
