Jammu Kashmir Govt Pharmacist Association celebrates "World Pharmacist Day"

JAMMU, Sept 25: The Jammu Kashmir Govt Pharmacist Association Jammu celebrated "World Pharmacist Day" on September 25, 2023. This annual observance aims to honor the role of pharmacists in achieving global health goals, particularly those set by the World Health Organization (WHO). Pharmacists play a vital role in providing healthcare services to the community, especially at the grassroots level.
The chief guest for the occasion, Sham Lal Sharma, Former Minister for Health & F.W. (J&K), extended his congratulations to pharmacists worldwide. He emphasized the importance of pharmacists' knowledge and skills in improving society's well-being and patient care. Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma, Director Health Services Jammu, also conveyed his best wishes to pharmacists and acknowledged their significant role in delivering healthcare services to society. Sushil Sudan, President of the Jammu Kashmir Medical Employee Federation and a member of the Pharmacy Council of India, shed light on the achievements of the Pharmacist Association, particularly in bringing amendments to the Pharmacy Council of India Act 1948, Section (32-C). Bharat Bhushan Bhagat, President of the JK Govt Pharmacists Association Jammu Province, expressed his gratitude to the chief guest, Dr. Rajeev Kumar Sharma, and other dignitaries. He thanked all the participants for their involvement in celebrating World Pharmacist Day.
During the event, participants took an oath to donate their organs, contributing to the cause of organ transplantation. Retired pharmacists were also honored for their exceptional services to the health department and their significant roles in implementing WHO programs.
Several individuals addressed the gathering, including Deepak Sharma, Surjeet Kumar Bhagat, Sourab Bakshi, Vinod Kumar, Ved Paul Saini, Neelam Devi, Anil Khajuria, Shaffket Hussain, R.P. Singh, Kuldeep Dabgotra, Prafulat Singh, and Harpal Singh.
