KHOUR, Sept 25: In honor of Gandhi Jayanti, Government Degree College (GDC) Khour, under the esteemed guidance of Prof. (Dr.) T.K. Sharma from the Department of Education, hosted a thought-provoking group discussion on the significant contributions of Mahatma Gandhi to the Indian education system.
The event kicked off with a warm welcome address by Dr. Noreen Jaral, Lecturer in Education, who eloquently emphasized the purpose of the activity. She highlighted that the discussion aimed to enlighten students about the profound educational philosophies and substantial contributions of Mahatma Gandhi in shaping the practical aspects of the education system.
The participants were divided into three groups, each comprising enthusiastic students eager to delve into the topic. Students such as Priya Sharma, Vishali Sharma, Suneha Sharma, and Anamika Sharma passionately expressed their insights on Gandhian educational ideals, which encompassed the ultimate and immediate aims of education, such as truth, non-violence, and the importance of basic education.
The Principal of GDC Khour took the opportunity to underscore the significance of education in the lives of students, emphasizing its role in shaping not only their academic journey but also their character and values.
The program concluded on a formal note with a vote of thanks extended by Dr. Noreen Jaral, acknowledging the active participation and intellectual contributions of the students.
