DC B'la discusses strategies to observe 'Sankalp Saptaah' Week in Singhpora Block

BARAMULLA, Sept 25: As part of Government of India's ambitious Initiative to achieve 100% saturation under Aspirational Block Development Programme in all the identified blocks across the country, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today convened a meeting of all the concerned officers at Dak Bunglow to discuss various strategies in order to implement the said programme in Block Singhpora Pattan here.
It is worth mentioning here that as envisaged under the initiative, a week long "Sankalp Saptaah" will be launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 30th of September to commemorate the 154th Birth anniversary of Mahatama Gandhi and the same will be celebrated in all identified 500 Aspirational blocks across India commencing from October 03 with Block Singhpora@ among one of the identified blocks.
During the meeting, Dr. Sehrish emphasized the need of initiatives to be taken for successful implementation of 'Sankalp Saptaah'' and exhorted upon the concerned officers to primarily focus on saturating indicators under Health and Nutrition, basic livelihood, agriculture in block Singhpora by bringing in innovative methods.
Elucidating further responsibilities to departments, the DC said that during this period, all the departments have to work in a coordinated approach to achieve the desired targets.
In this sequence, the Health, Education and other concerned Departments were instructed to organize awareness fair programmes on 3rd October.
Moreover, the DC further issued directions to the concerned officers for the implementation of comprehensive cleanliness drives in all panchayats and the aspiration to render the block polythene-free, underscoring the importance of a sustainable environment.
Additional District Development Commissioner Baramulla, Aijaz Abdullah Saraf, Joint Director Planning, M. Yousuf Rather, Sub Divisional Magistrate Pattan, Syed Fahim Bihaqi, ACD and other concerned functionaries were present in the meeting.
