KHOUR, Sept 26: Government Degree College (GDC) Khour celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with a profound emphasis on the principles of truth and non-violence. The event, organized by the Department of Dogri, witnessed enthusiastic participation from a multitude of college students.
The program featured an array of thought-provoking videos and slide shows that beautifully portrayed the essence of truth and non-violence. These visuals aimed to inspire and instill the values championed by Mahatma Gandhi himself. A highlight of the event was a captivating presentation titled "Sabarmati Ashram Skit: Society and Truth." This skit served as an interactive and engaging way to explore the intersection of society and truth, echoing Gandhi's timeless teachings.
This initiative was part of a broader plan to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti across all colleges in Jammu and Kashmir, spanning from September 12th to October 2nd, 2023. Dr. Sapna Narania, the Head of the Department of Dogri, played a pivotal role in orchestrating the event, ensuring its success. The overall coordination and guidance were provided by Dr. T K Sharma, the Principal of GDC Khour.
At the conclusion of the program, Dr. Seema Saini extended a formal vote of thanks to all participants and contributors, expressing profound gratitude for their active involvement in making the event a meaningful and enlightening experience.
The celebration not only paid tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, but also encouraged students to reflect upon and internalize his principles of truth and non-violence, fostering a sense of social responsibility and harmony.
