Districts Rajouri, Kathua, Poonch shine in Inter-District Divisional Level Football Competitions

JAMMU, Sept 26: Department of Youth Services and Sports, District Jammu, continued to host the Inter-District Divisional Level Football Competitions for boys under the age groups of U/17 and U/19 years on the second day at the Astro Turf Parade Ground in Jammu.
On the second day of the competition, District Rajouri showcased their football prowess in the U/17 category by defeating District Samba with a score of 2-0. Moheeb Khan of Rajouri proved to be the star player, scoring two crucial goals for his team.
Simultaneously, in the U/19 category, District Rajouri locked horns with District Kathua. Rajouri secured a 2-1 victory, with Sammer Raja opening the scoring for Rajouri in the first half, and Rajpaul of Kathua responding with a goal during the same period. However, Satvik Sharma of Rajouri sealed the victory with another goal in the second half.
In the U/17 category, District Poonch triumphed over Jammu with a scoreline of 2-1. Harspreet and Namul Haq each contributed a goal for Poonch, while Mir Mohammed of Jammu managed to score one goal for his team.
In the fourth match of the day, Kathua dominated Rajouri with a convincing 4-1 win. Abhinav Sharma led the charge for Kathua with two goals, while Arsh Sangra and Amandeep added one goal each. Karan Veer of Rajouri managed to score one goal in response.
These competitive matches have been organized under the patronage of Director Youth Services and Sports, JK UT, Subash Chander Chibber (JKAS), with guidance from Joint Director Youth Services and Sports, Jammu, Sh. Suram Chand Sharma (JKAS). The overall supervision of the event is being conducted by DYSSO Jammu, Sh. Sukhdev Raj Sharma.
Approximately 180 young players from various districts of Jammu Division are participating in this tournament. The matches are officiated by a panel of experts from the Department of Youth Services and Sports, with officials, convenors, and technical staff working tirelessly to ensure the smooth conduct of these competitions. The event showcases the talent and enthusiasm of youth footballers from the region and promotes sportsmanship and healthy competition.
