RS PURA, Sept 27: The Girls NCC Unit of Government Degree College R.S. Pura celebrated World Tourism Day with a seminar on the topic "Importance of Ecotourism." This event, organized under the Garbage Free India initiative as part of Swachhta Hi Sewa Campaign - 2023, focused on this year's theme, "Tourism and Green Investments." The seminar aimed to raise awareness about the critical role of ecotourism in fostering sustainable tourism practices. The event received patronage from the esteemed Principal of the college, Prof. Rajni Bhagat, and was supervised by Lt. Shaveta Chowdhary, the ANO (Associate NCC Officer) for the Girls NCC Unit.
During the seminar, NCC cadets delivered speeches highlighting the importance of ecotourism and green investments in promoting tourism that is both economically beneficial and environmentally responsible. They stressed the significance of sustainable tourism practices in preserving the planet's natural beauty and cultural heritage.
A key message conveyed during the seminar was the need to strike a balance between economic development and environmental conservation. By investing in ecotourism, businesses can offer unique and enriching experiences for travelers, contribute to local communities, and boost economic growth while also ensuring the protection of natural resources.
Principal Prof. Rajni Bhagat commended the cadets for selecting such an important and relevant topic for celebrating World Tourism Day. Their initiative showcased the college's commitment to raising awareness about sustainable tourism practices and their potential to create a positive impact on both the environment and local communities.
