Early Times Report
DODA, Sept 29: In a significant collaboration dedicated to advancing environmental sustainability, the Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India Field Office in Doda, has partnered with the Department of Information & PR Doda to establish an E-Waste Collection Booth. This initiative has garnered enthusiastic support from the local community, reaffirming the collective commitment to responsible e-waste disposal.
The E-Waste Collection Booth, open for two days on September 29th and 30th, 2023, serves as a beacon of eco-consciousness in Doda, aligning with the ongoing "Swachta Hi Seva" (Cleanliness is Service) campaign. It offers residents a convenient and responsible avenue to dispose of their electronic waste. Given the rapid technological advancements, the proper disposal of electronic devices has emerged as a critical concern to mitigate environmental hazards.
The citizens of Doda have showcased their environmental responsibility by actively participating in this initiative. By depositing their old electronic gadgets at the collection booth, they have not only contributed to reducing electronic waste but have also set a commendable example for the wider community.
Certificates of Eco-Responsibility were awarded to individuals who responsibly deposited their e-waste at the booth. This recognition aims to inspire more people to engage in sustainable practices when disposing of electronic waste.
Vikram Uppal, in charge of the Central Bureau of Communication, Doda Circle, expressed his gratitude to the people of Doda for their active involvement in the E-Waste Collection Booth initiative. He stated, "We are thrilled to witness such a positive response from the community. It is heartening to see our citizens committed to preserving the environment. We hope this initiative serves as an inspiration for others to adopt responsible e-waste disposal practices."
The Central Bureau of Communication and the Department of Information & PR Doda are dedicated to advancing initiatives that promote environmental sustainability and community well-being. This collaborative effort underscores the transformative potential of cooperation in driving positive change and raising awareness about the significance of responsible e-waste management.
