Crackdown on illegal mining: 6 vehicles seized in Reasi district

Reasi, Sept 29: In a decisive action against illegal mining, the Reasi police have confiscated six vehicles engaged in the theft of minor minerals across various areas in Reasi district.
In separate incidents related to illegal mining in Reasi, law enforcement authorities successfully seized the following vehicles:
1. One tractor with the chassis number MBNAU48AFKCG30045, loaded with river bed material, was apprehended by the personnel from Dera Baba Police Post.
2. Two dumpers with registration numbers JK02 AW 3285 and JK20 0223 were seized by a team comprising officers from the Reasi Police Station and the District Mining Officer (DMO).
3. In another instance of illegal mining, three tractors with registration numbers JK20 2547, JK11D 4226, and JK20B 8993, along with a loaded trolley carrying Bajri, were confiscated in the Pouni Block by officers from the Pouni Police Station and the DMO.
The entire operation against illegal mining was conducted under the supervision of DySP HQ Neeraj Padyar-JKPS, and it involved the participation of the ICPP Dera Baba, SHO PS Reasi, and SHO PS Pouni.
SSP Reasi, Sh. Amit Gupta - JKPS, provided further details, emphasizing the commitment of Reasi Police to protect public property and consumer rights while enforcing fair rates for goods and services in the region. Additionally, the police are dedicated to eradicating the menace of illegal mining and addressing related issues. Those found involved in illegal extraction activities will face legal consequences. The community is encouraged to share information about crimes in their neighborhoods with the relevant police units.
