| Reliance, Idea to invade J&K by yearend | | | Early Times Report Srinagar: Cellular giants Reliance mobile and Idea Cellular will roll-out operations in Jammu and Kashmir taking the number to mobile service operators to six. Reliance will be launching its service in the third week of February while as idea cellular may start operations during the later part of the year. Sources told that Reliance has already established its operational base in the state and the company will start its services from the second week of February. Reliance will announce its launch in Jammu during the second week while as the service will be launched in Valley during the third week. Meanwhile, Idea cellular has been authorized to operate from five service areas including West Bengal and Jammu & Kashmir by the end of 2009. According to an investor presentation filed by the conglomerate to the stock exchanges, the group's telecom business has performed well in the third quarter ended December and is eyeing to begin operations in the remaining five service areas. "Spectrum has been allotted for remaining five service areas, West Bengal, Kolkata, Assam, North East and Jammu & Kashmir. We are targeting roll out operations by the end of calendar year 2009," the Group said.
