SJVN Achieves remarkable financial and operational milestones in FY 2022-23

Jammu, Sept 30: In an outstanding display of excellence and commitment, SJVN (formerly Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited) has achieved significant milestones in the fiscal year 2022-23, underscoring its position as a leading player in the energy sector. The highlights of SJVN’s accomplishments, as unveiled by Sh. Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman & Managing Director, during a gathering that included Smt. Geeta Kapur, Director (Personnel), Sh. A.K Singh, Director (Finance), and Sh. Sushil Sharma, Director (Projects), are as follows:
Financial Achievements:
• Record Revenue: SJVN recorded its highest-ever revenue of Rs. 3299 Crores in FY 2022-23, marking an impressive increase of 25.62% from the previous year (Rs. 2626 Crores in 2021-22).
• Profit Surge: The Profit After Tax (PAT) witnessed substantial growth, reaching Rs. 1363.45 Crores in FY 2022-23, reflecting an increase of 39.48% compared to Rs. 977.52 Crores in FY 2021-22.
• Profit Before Tax: SJVN achieved a Profit Before Tax of Rs. 1732.13 Crores, a remarkable 28.93% increase from the previous fiscal year’s Rs. 1343.44 Crores.
• Earnings Per Share (EPS): The Earnings Per Share surged to Rs. 3.47 from Rs. 2.49 per share in FY 2021-22.
• Dividend Declaration: SJVN declared a dividend of Rs. 1.77 per share for the fiscal year 2022-23.
Operational Highlights:
• Record Power Generation: SJVN’s Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station achieved its highest Plant Availability Factor (PAF) at 106.653%.
• Charanka SPS: Charanka Solar Power Station achieved the highest Annual Generation of 8.75 MU in FY 2022-23.
• Energy Generation: SJVN’s power stations collectively generated 9335 Million Units of energy, surpassing their total Design Energy of 8705 Million Units.
• CSR Commitment: SJVN invested Rs. 59.84 Crores in CSR activities, exceeding the statutory obligation of Rs. 36.46 Crores.
Infrastructure and Development:
• Capacity Expansion: SJVN’s current installed capacity stands at 2091.50 MW, including Hydro (1912 MW), Wind Power (97.6 MW), and Solar Power (81.9 MW).
• Transmission Line: SJVN operates one Transmission Line of 86 km length, and another of 217 km from Arun-3 HEP in Nepal to Bathnaha on the Nepal-India border is under construction.
• CAPEX Achievement: SJVN achieved a record CAPEX of Rs. 8,240 Crores during the year, surpassing all previous records.
• ISO Certification: SJVN implemented a Risk Management System and became the First CPSE to attain ISO 31000:2018 certification in November 2022.
Notable Achievements in 2023-24:
• Renewable Energy Implementation: SJVN became the fourth Renewable Energy Implementing Agency (REIA) alongside SECI, NTPC, and NHPC on April 6, 2023.
• Anti-Bribery Certification: SJVN was awarded the Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) Certification by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), making it the first PSU in the Power sector to receive this recognition on September 13, 2023.
Key MOUs Signed:
The company also forged several significant Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) during FY 2022-23 and Q1 & Q2 of FY 2023-24 to further its commitment to sustainable development and growth.

SJVN received numerous awards and accolades in recognition of its outstanding contributions in the energy sector, including awards for efficiency, environmental protection, and social development.
