Inter School Zonal Level Athletic Tournament for girls kicks off at Govt Boys High School SIMBAL

Simbal, Sept 30: The Inter School Zonal Level Athletic Tournament for girls, organized under the aegis of the Athletics Association of Jammu and Kashmir (AAG) for the year 2023-24, commenced at Govt. Boys High School SIMBAL. The tournament has drawn a total of 115 girls from various private and government institutions in Zone Miran Sahib, participating in events such as shot put, races, throws, track events, and more.
The tournament is being conducted under the patronage of Sh. Subash Chander Chibber JKAS, Director Youth Services and Sports JK (UT). Sh. Rakesh Kakar, Zonal Physical Education Officer, is supervising the tournament, which is being chaired by Sh. Sukhdev Raj Sharma, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Jammu.
Addressing the participants, Sh. Rakesh Kakar, ZPEO, acquainted them with the sequence of forthcoming tournaments leading up to the national level. He emphasized the importance of seizing the opportunities provided by the UT Government.
Mr. Kakar expressed gratitude to the Headmistress Smt. Kailash Devi for her continuous support in providing ground facilities and other necessary amenities. He also commended the efforts of Physical Education Leaders (PEL), Physical Education Masters (PEM), Physical Education Teachers (PET), and Resource Persons (REK) for giving their best.
The matches were officiated by a dedicated team of officials, including Kuldeep Kour PEM, Hardeep Kour PEM, Ravinder Singh Bali PEM, Gurmeet Singh PEM, Ravinder Singh PEM, Nisha Sharma PEM, Iqbal Kour PEM, Ravinder Kumar PET, Gurmeet Singh PET, Amolak Singh PET, Anita Kour PET, Rama Rani PET, Navneet Kour PET, Anil Sharma, Raghunandan, Koushal Sharma, Sunny Kumar, Nandani Sharma, Shewta, and Ambika Subham Bakshi.
Today’s Results:
• Shot Put U/17 Girls: Shriya Raina from GHS BRIJ NAGAR secured the GOLD medal.
• Shot Put U/14 Girls: Ashia Choudhary from GBHS BADYAL BRAHAMANA clinched the GOLD medal.
