9/30/2023 11:01:08 PM
Early Times Report

Vijaypur, Sept 30: Government Degree College (GDC) Vijaypur, in alignment with the “Swachhata Hi Seva” campaign initiated by the Government of India and in celebration of Gandhi Jayanti 2023, conducted a meaningful cleanliness drive within the college premises. This initiative was organized by the NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of GDC Vijaypur, in collaboration with IQAC, as part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan and Bhrashtachaar Mukt Jammu and Kashmir campaign.
The cleanliness drive began with an introductory address by Dr. Shittal Sharma, Convenor of IQAC at the college. Dr. Sharma emphasized the significance of cleanliness and its role in shaping a healthier and more vibrant society. She underlined how such initiatives serve as an excellent opportunity for students to actively contribute to society and raise awareness about the importance of cleanliness on the college campus.
NSS Volunteers from various semesters of the college enthusiastically participated in the cleanliness drive. Their active engagement demonstrated their commitment to the cause of cleanliness and their dedication to promoting a cleaner and healthier environment.
The event was executed under the able guidance of Dr. Vandana Gupta, the Principal of GDC Vijaypur, who has been instrumental in fostering a sense of social responsibility among students. The program’s success was a result of the collaborative efforts of Dr. Naseem Chowdhary, NSS Program Officer, and other members of the NSS Unit, as well as Prof. Poonam Kundan, Convenor of the Eco-Club at the college.
The cleanliness drive not only contributed to the physical cleanliness of the college premises but also instilled in students a sense of responsibility and a commitment to making a positive difference in society. It served as a fitting tribute to Mahatma Gandhi, who advocated for cleanliness as an integral part of a healthy and prosperous nation.
