Kishtwar villagers demand action in missing guard case
2/3/2009 9:55:12 PM

Early Times Report

Kishtwar (J&K): Over 300 villagers of Kuntwara on Tuesday blocked the Kishtwar-Jammu road near here to protest the alleged failure of the authorities to trace a guard missing from the last fortnight.
The protesting villagers, who came down from a hillock, blocked the road at Kandni and raised slogans demanding that the authorities take concrete steps to trace a guard identified as Prem Nath, official sources said.
The villagers had two days back lodged a complaint about the missing guard with the district authorities. They had also given an ultimatum to the authorities to trace Nath within two days failing which they will resort to agitation.
Police have registered a case in this connection and are investigating the matter.
