JAMMU, Oct 1: The Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services, in line with the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiated by the Government of India, observed the cleanliness drive with great enthusiasm across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. A total of 191 events were organized, with each Fire and Emergency station and command office in all districts of the UT participating in the day's activities. The main event took place at the Gandhi Nagar Headquarters in Jammu, where Alok Kumar, IPS ADGP and Director of Fire and Emergency Services, actively participated in the Swachhata Abhiyan.
During the event, Alok Kumar encouraged the personnel to embrace Swachhata Abhiyan as a crucial part of the Clean India campaign. He personally joined the cleaning efforts alongside the jawans, reinforcing the importance of cleanliness. The event also saw the participation of RK Raina, DD Jammu, Dr. Manju, Medical Officer at Fire and Emergency Services Jammu, and other senior officers. They collectively cleaned the office premises and fire station. Afterward, they extended their efforts to clean the surrounding green belt area in Gandhi Nagar.
Similar activities were conducted at Range and District Headquarters, with command officers leading the cleanliness drive. At the Srinagar Headquarters, Aqib Hussain Mir, Assistant Director, led the Swachhata Abhiyan.
As part of the directives from higher authorities, every Fire and Emergency station focused on cleaning its premises and the surrounding areas with enthusiasm.
