FICCI, Rotary Club took initiative in support of Swachhata Cleanliness Drive

JAMMU, Oct 1: The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) has joined hands with the Rotary Club of Jammu City in a collaborative effort to contribute to the Swachhata (Cleanliness) movement through a Shramdaan initiative. This partnership reflects FICCI's commitment to corporate social responsibility and its dedication to fostering a cleaner and greener India.
The Shramdaan event, held on October 1, 2023, witnessed active participation from FICCI members, Rotary Club members, and enthusiastic community volunteers. The event took place at Sector 7, Green Belt Park, Channi Himmat, Jammu, where participants engaged in an hour of dedicated cleaning and beautification activities aimed at promoting cleanliness and hygiene in the area, aligning with the Hon'ble Prime Minister's call for 1 hour of Shramdaan for Swachhata.
Mr. Rajesh Sharma, Chairman of FICCI, J&K UT Council, expressed FICCI's enthusiasm for this collaborative effort. He stated, "FICCI is proud to collaborate with the Rotary Club for this Shramdaan initiative as part of our ongoing commitment to support the Swachhata mission. We believe that a clean environment is essential for the well-being of our communities and the growth of our nation."
The event encompassed various activities, including cleaning public spaces and conducting awareness drives, all aimed at fostering a sense of responsibility towards maintaining cleanliness. Local residents and passersby also joined in, making it a true community effort.
Mr. Robin Mehta, President of the Rotary Club of Jammu City, emphasized the importance of such collaborations. He said, "Rotary Club, Jammu City, is delighted to partner with FICCI for this noble cause. Together, we can make a significant impact in creating cleaner and healthier communities. This event is a testament to what can be achieved when organizations come together for a common purpose."
The Shramdaan initiative is part of FICCI's broader commitment to sustainable development and social welfare. The event received overwhelming and wholehearted support from the CRPF and the local community, underscoring the collective determination to make India cleaner and more beautiful.

President Rtn Jyoti Vaid of club Elite and Rtn Sushma Gupta, President Rotary Club, Trikuta, and former Presidents of the Rotary Club of Jammu City, Sanjeev Vaid and Arun Ninawat, were also present during the cleanliness drive.
