Kavinder leads nationwide Swachhta Abhiyan cleanliness drive in Jammu cantonment area

JAMMU, Oct 1: Former Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader, Kavinder Gupta, took a significant step towards fostering a cleaner and greener nation today by spearheading a cleanliness drive at the Cantonment Area in Jammu. This initiative is a part of Nationwide Swachhta Abhiyan, a movement initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promote cleanliness and hygiene across the country.
The cleanliness drive, which drew enthusiastic participation from a dedicated team of individuals, was carried out under the active supervision of Vinay Gupta, BJP Senior Leader; Narinder Koki, Vice President District; Bharat Bhushan, Vice Chairman Cantonment; Anuj Sharma, Principal Director, Defence Estates; Meena Balimane Sharma, Senior Additional Director General; Abhijit Sanap, Deputy Director, Defence Estates; Irfan Hafiz, Officiating Defence Estates Officer, Jammu; Akhil Bihari, Chief Executive Officer, Jammu Cantonment; Dr Gurbinder Singh, Dr Jyoti, Dr Shweta, Dr Anjana, Onkar, Surinder, Safayai, Jasbir ji, Dushant, Rakesh, Ankush, Varun Sharma and Naresh Kumar.
The event commenced with a gathering at a park in Ward 7 of the Cantonment area, where Safai Karmcharis were felicitated for their invaluable contributions to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the city. This gesture of appreciation was followed by a tree plantation drive in the children's park, graced by the presence of Defense Officers. Subsequently, a thorough cleanliness drive was initiated to further enhance the overall sanitation of the area.
Addressing the gathering, Kavinder Gupta highlighted the importance of the Swachhta Abhiyan initiated at the national level by Prime Minister Modi. He emphasized the crucial role played by sanitation workers, commending their unwavering dedication and hard work in ensuring the city's cleanliness. He urged the people to embrace cleanliness as an ongoing commitment rather than a one-day event. He appealed to everyone to incorporate cleanliness into their daily routines and make it a top priority, not only within their homes but also in their surroundings, promoting a clean and green environment.
Gupta reiterated the unwavering commitment of the Modi-led Central Government to the welfare of the common people and urged the public to join hands in realizing the vision of a clean and green nation. He recalled the launch of the mega Swachhata Abhiyan across the nation by Prime Minister Modi a few years ago as a significant step in this direction.
