| High School Budhi celebrates Republic day | | |

KATHUA, FEB 3: As a part of Republic Day celebrations, 2009, Government Higher Secondary School, Budhi in Kathua district organized a function today.
Member legislative Assembly, Kathua, Mr. Charanjit Singh Jasrotia was the Chief guest on the occasion, while Manager State Bank of India, Kathua Mr. Keshav Singh Bhadwal presided over the function.
Mr. Charanjit Singh unfurled the national Flag and took salute on the march past.
As many as 6 schools of the area participated in the celebrations. The students presented colorful cultural items based on patriotism and national integration.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Charanjit Singh threw light on this historic and national Day. He said that teachers can play a vital role in building a nation. He asked the teachers to work with honesty and dedication. He said that while enjoying our rights we should not forget our duties towards the Nation. He advised the students to desist from bad habits and concentrate on their studies and asked them to take active part in the extra curricular activities. He said that in present competitive world only hard working people can excel.
As an annual routine school presented best teacher award to Mr. Kamaljit Singh and best lecturer award to Ms. Vijya Thakur.
The MLA and SBI Manager gave cash rewards to the students on the occasion.
Later the vote of thanks was presented by Vice principal of the school.
