Early Times Report
BISHNAH, Oct 2: In an endeavor to contribute to the Swachhata Hi Sewa campaign, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of Government Degree College (GDC) Bishnah organized a dedicated Cleanliness Drive and Pledge Taking ceremony. The campaign, titled "Ek Tareekh, Ek Ghanta Ek Saath Shramdaan" (One Date, One Hour, One Collective Effort), aimed to promote cleanliness and the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of our nation.
The NSS volunteers initiated the campaign with a thorough Cleanliness Drive within the college premises, ensuring that their own educational environment remained pristine. Subsequently, they gathered for a Pledge Taking ceremony, where they pledged to uphold cleanliness and embrace the values advocated by Mahatma Gandhi.
Taking their commitment beyond the college boundaries, the NSS volunteers extended their efforts to the adopted Panchayat of Ratnal. In collaboration with the Panchayat Members of Halqa Panchayat Ratnal, the volunteers conducted another Cleanliness Drive and hosted a Pledge Taking ceremony at the Panchayat Ghar, situated in the village of Chak Hasal.
During the Cleanliness Drive, waste was carefully segregated, with plastic waste being responsibly handed over to the Municipal Committee of Bishnah for proper disposal.
Kamal Singh, the Sarpanch of Halqa Panchayat Ratnal, expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the dedication and hard work displayed by the NSS volunteers. He emphasized the importance of following Mahatma Gandhi's ideals to transform India into a morally strong and clean nation.
Prof. Amit Kumar Sharma, the NSS Programme Officer, delivered a formal Vote of Thanks to acknowledge the efforts of the volunteers, their commitment to cleanliness, and their contribution to the community.
Following the program, the NSS volunteers were treated to light refreshments, a well-deserved recognition for their commendable efforts in promoting cleanliness and Gandhi's principles of truth and non-violence within the college and the adopted Panchayat.
