Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Oct 2: Special Director General Criminal Investigation Department (CID) R R Swain on Monday said that the J&K Police force is unique and fighting against an organized enemy.
Talking to the reports on the sideline of "Run for Peace" Kashmir Marathon, organized on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Swain said J&K Police is trying its every bit to root out fear from the common man's heart and mind.
"J&K Police has a unique role in the country. To fight some people who promote violence needs an extra bit of valour and that is found within the J&K police. Challenges before J&K police are quite different than what other forces are facing," he said.
He said the other forces have great courage, talent and experience but there is a vast difference between the fight they (J&K) police are fighting. But they silently; quietly with calm continue their fight against these inimical forces without causing any inconvenience to a common citizen.
He said Jammu and Kashmir police is for the people who are living in far off areas earning their bread and butter and want to live respectfully and peacefully.
The Special DG said the Police fights against an enemy who is organised with outside support and influence.
He said on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the message was to protect non-violent people from violence.
"Gandhi was far from nonviolent, but that state of non-violence can be achieved only by protecting nonviolent people from the violent", the Special DG CID said.
He said, "We would like to make a distinction between those who are addicted to violence because of their ulterior motives, the fight will continue against them."
