| Pandey, Bhandari review work at Khour migrant colony | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, FEB 3: The Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Mr. Sudhanshu Pandey today visited village Gurha Jagir in Khour block to inspect the ongoing developments works of upcoming colony for border migrants of Khour block. Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, senior officers of PHE, PDD, Floriculture, R&B and Revenue accompanied the Divisional Commissioner. During his tour, Mr. Pandey asked the PHE, PDD and R&B to expedite the blacktopping of road, construction of Over Head Tank (OHT), lanes and by-lanes by March 2009, so that the inhabitants of the colony do not face any inconvenience. To beautify the area, he asked the floriculture department to plant trees on both sides of the road and construct a park on the identified land in the colony. He directed the I&FC authorities to complete the ongoing construction of protection bunds by the end of next month. Responding to the demands, he asked the PDD authorities to prepare the estimates for installation of lights and submit the same to higher authorities for funding. Regarding disbursement of Rs. 25000/- as second installment in favour of 6072 migrant families, he informed that the government has submitted proposal to centre for funding, immediately after receiving the funds, the said installment would be reimbursed to them. He said that the government was fully aware with the problems of border migrants and taking keen interest to provide all civic amenities to them at their doorsteps.
