JAMMU, FEBRUARY 03 – Chief Secretary Mr. S. S. Kapur has directed all the District Development Commissioners to submit detailed action plans for next financial year regarding rehabilitation of militancy-affected people by March 10 so that the proposed action plan of Rs. 503 crore would be approved in time. Kapur was chairing an executive council meeting for rehabilitation of militancy-affected people including widows, orphans and handicapped, besides old-age persons here today. It was decided that the Rehabilitation Council would provide one month vocational training to 120 beneficiaries and would also provide Rs. 15,000 as corpus fund to be converted into grant-in-aid for purchase of raw material for marketing products through exhibitions. Principal Secretary, Social Welfare Department, Mr. R. K. Jerath, Principal Secretary, Revenue, Mr. Anil Goswami, Commissioner/Secretary, Finance, Mr. B. B. Vyas, Secretary, Home, Mr. Farooq Ahmad Peer, Director K-II, MHA, GoI, Mr. Raju Sharma, Executive Director, Rehabilitation Council, Dr. Suraya and Managing Director, Women Development Corporation, Dr. Naheed Soz were also present in the meeting. The meeting decided that the pension in respect of militancy-hit widows, which has been enhanced from Rs. 500 to Rs. 750 by the Ministry of Home Affairs would be equally distributed among the people affected by militancy-related incidents. An amount of Rs 1.20 lakh as grant-in aid for Ashaina Orphanage was also approved on the occasion.
