Early Times Report
POONCH, Oct 4: Deputy Commissioner Poonch Yasin M. Choudhary today inaugurated the Ayushman Bhava Health Mela as a part of Sankalp Saptaah program at the AB-HWC PHC in the Aspirational Block Mankote.
The Ayushman Bhava Health Mela offers access to comprehensive primary health care services with medicines and diagnostics and consultation of health specialists, with special priority to marginalized people for a continuum of services.
The event marked the beginning of a week-long campaign dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the residents in the region and in the Mankote block of the district. The gathering witnessed the establishment of vital healthcare facilities catering to the local community's needs, including: ANC Clinic; TB Screening; NCD Screening; ABHA Registration; Anaemia Testing; Immunization Drive; Nikshay Mitra Facility; Free Medical Checkup; Free Medicine Distribution. A stall was established for on-spot creation of ABHA ID Cards and Ayushman Bharat Golden Cards, facilitating equitable access to high-quality healthcare services for beneficiaries. 180 ABHA ID cards were generated on the occasion.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the selection of Mankote under the ABP by the NITI Aayog is a matter of pride for the whole district.
He underscored the critical role the Aspirational block program will play in the lives of the local residents. He said that the government interventions in these areas will significantly improve the quality of life, providing opportunities for growth and prosperity.
He passionately emphasized that Mankote, akin to many other aspirational blocks, holds immense potential, and it is the collective responsibility of citizens, community leaders, and government officials to unlock this potential and uplift the lives of its residents. Recognizing the significance of these regions, the government has placed a dedicated focus on their development.
The DC also interacted with the patients and took stock of the basic facilities and infrastructure available in the PHC. He directed the health authorities to maintain cleanliness and provide efficient health services to people.
