10/4/2023 10:24:36 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 4: In a remarkable display of determination and skill, NCC cadets from our esteemed college recently participated in the prestigious Thal Sainik Camp (TSC) held in Delhi from 19th to 30th September 2023. Their exceptional performance earned them praise from Principal Prof. Rajesh Gupta and Associate NCC Officers Dr. (Capt.) Anjana Sharma and Dr. (Lt.) Devinder Kumar Sharma.
Thal Sainik Camp is a highly competitive 12-day event conducted by DG NCC in Delhi every year, where cadets from all 17 directorates across India come together to showcase their prowess. For cadets from JK&L Directorate, which includes Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, the journey to TSC involves a rigorous selection process in pre-TSC camps, consisting of three phases, each lasting 10-12 days, conducted at the Nagrota Camping Ground.
During the camp in Delhi, cadets participated in various challenging competitions such as Obstacle Training, Firing, Map Reading, Judging Distance, Field Signals, Health Hygiene, Tent Pitching, and Line Area, among others. These contests demanded not only physical fitness but also mental agility and teamwork. To excel, the cadets honed their stamina through regular practice of activities like pushups and running, as well as developed their strength and speed.
A total of eighty cadets represented the JK&L Directorate at the TSC, with twelve cadets from our college making us proud. The cadets who contributed to our college's success were Cadet Tanu Devi, Munakshi, Pritty, Kashish, Ashvi (SW), and Rishav, Karan, Digvijay, Pankush, Gourav, Gautam (SD).
Their efforts culminated in a significant achievement, as JK&L Directorate secured the fourth position in the All India rankings for TSC (Boys) and the fourteenth position for TSC (Girls). This accomplishment is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our NCC cadets who showcased exceptional talent and commitment on the national stage.
Principal Prof. Rajesh Gupta, along with the Associate NCC Officers Dr. (Capt.) Anjana Sharma and Dr. (Lt.) Devinder Kumar Sharma, extended their heartfelt appreciation to all the NCC cadets for their outstanding performance and for representing our college with pride at the Thal Sainik Camp in Delhi.
The college community congratulates these young achievers and looks forward to their continued success and contributions to society. Their commitment to discipline, teamwork, and excellence serves as an inspiration to all.
