Jammu, February, 03 – A delegation of J&K Olympic Association led by its President, S Rangil Singh today called on Chief Minister, Mr. Omar Abdullah here and discussed with him matters relating to the development of sports in the State. The Association demanded streamlining of the process of funding, development of infrastructural facilities at the district level for the sports like athletics, boxing, gymnastics, wrestling, judo, weight-lifting, etc. They also demanded adjustment of outstanding sports persons in the Police and other departments, reconstitution of sports council, incentives to the medal winners and deputing outstanding and deserving sports persons for trainings. They also laid stress on improving and enhancing coaching arrangements for the sports persons in the State. The other numbers of the delegations included Honorary Secretary, Dr. Ashutosh Sharma, Vice President, Mr. Romesh Mahajan, Mr. B. D. Magotra, Mr. S. S. Wazir and Capitan Murti. The Chief Minister gave patient hearing and said that he would discuss these issues with the concerned.
