Jammu Tawi Golf Course to host 'Golf Clinic' today

JAMMU, Oct 4: Dear Jammu, if you are enthusiast to learn basics of golf sport then do not miss an opportunity to meet the professionals at one-hour session of 'Golf Clinic' being organised during the five days Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) event underway at Sidhra based Jammu Tawi Golf Course here on the city outskirts. The 'Golf Clinic' will be organised on Thursday at the venue from 4 pm to 5 pm. "Couple of professional golfers will interact and share tips with our budding golfers at the 'Golf Clinic' scheduled for tomorrow at the venue," Manav Gupta--Secretary, Jammu Tawi Golf Course said. The Secretary stated, "It is an opportunity for our golfers including those who are learning the sport and the enthusiast as well to learn the basics."
"The one-hour 'Golf Clinic' will definitely be an advantage for learners opting golf as a profession in near future," said Gupta. The five days event was declared open by the Advisor to Lieutenant Governor RR Bhatnagar on Wednesday morning at Jammu Tawi Golf Course.
Jammu will be witnessing a galaxy of reputed and famous golfers during the competitions.
PGTI-the official sanctioning body of professional golf in India, along with J&K Tourism are organising its third edition of J&K Open--in Jammu and Kashmir.
The total prize purse for the event has been enhanced to Rs 50 lakh this year while the Pro-Am event will be held on October 8.
The tournament is supported by Presenting Partner J&K Tourism as well as host venue Jammu
Tawi Golf Course.
The field of 114 players including 109 professionals and five amateurs will be witnessing participation by top Indian professionals namely Om Prakash Chouhan, Aman Raj, Akshay Sharma, Sachin Baisoya, Harshjeet Singh Sethie, Gaurav Pratap Singh, Karan Pratap Singh and Kshitij Naveed Kaul and the the foreign challenge will be led by Bangladesh's Badal Hossain, Nepal's Sukra Bahadur Rai and Canada's Sukhraj Singh Gill among the few.
