Felicitation ceremony honors Safai Karamcharis at SPMR College of Commerce

SRINAGAR, Oct 5: In a heartwarming and appreciative gesture, Govt. SPMR College of Commerce organized a felicitation program to honor the Safai Karamcharis who diligently work to keep the college premises clean and hygienic. This event was a way to express gratitude for their tireless efforts in maintaining cleanliness within the college campus.
The program was a testament to the college's commitment to recognizing the invaluable contributions of the cleanliness staff. Such appreciation serves as a psychological boost, motivating individuals to perform their duties with greater dedication and enthusiasm.
Dr. Surinder Kumar Sharma, the Principal of the college, presided over the event as the Chief Guest. In his address, he expressed deep appreciation for the Safai Karamcharis, acknowledging their pivotal role in ensuring that the college environment remains neat and hygienic. He emphasized that their efforts start early in the day, preparing the campus for the activities that follow. Furthermore, he lauded their unwavering dedication, highlighting their service during the challenging and critical period of the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a mark of gratitude, all the Safai Karamcharis, including Kabir, Rinku, Ms. Anjelina, Neelam, Ms. Hafeeza, Bobby, Sunny, and Raj Begum, were honored with garlands and received momentos and gifts. Prof. Savita Jamwal encouraged them to work together as a team, transcending their designated areas of responsibility.
Dr. Deepak Pathania stressed the importance of the cleanliness staff working as a cohesive unit, engaging in activities such as waste segregation, compost creation, and proper disposal of solid waste. She emphasized that everyone should respect and appreciate their indispensable role in cleaning up after others, a task that can be challenging.
The college faculty members were urged to cooperate in making the working environment easier and more comfortable for the Safai Karamcharis. Following the formal part of the event, all participants enjoyed refreshments and tea. Rinku and Sunny added a lively touch to the occasion with their musical performances.
The coordination of the entire program was managed by Prof. Savita Jamwal, Dr. Monika Malhotra, Prof. Deepshikha Sharma, and Dr. Deepak Pathania. Prof. Apfan Ali conducted the proceedings of the program.
The felicitation ceremony at Govt. SPMR College of Commerce not only acknowledged the crucial role played by the Safai Karamcharis but also underscored the importance of mutual respect and cooperation within the college community. It was a heartwarming event that celebrated the unsung heroes behind the scenes who keep the college clean and inviting for all.
