DIG of Police Sarah Rizvi visits IRP-19th Battalion Headquarters in Kathua

KATHUA, Oct 5: Sarah Rizvi-IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police for the IRP Range Jammu, made a significant visit to the IRP-19th Battalion Headquarters in Kathua. The visit was marked by various engaging events and discussions aimed at enhancing the well-being and morale of officers and Jawans.
Upon her arrival at the Battalion Headquarters, Dr. Koshal Kumar Sharma-IPS, Commandant of IRP-19th Battalion, extended a warm welcome to DIG Sarah Rizvi. The highlight of her reception was a grand Guard of Honour presented in her honor.
A darbar session was also convened during the visit, where the Deputy Inspector General took the time to address and promptly redress the grievances of both officers and Jawans. She emphatically assured everyone present that the welfare matters of the Jawans would remain a top priority.
Commandant Sharma presented a formal welcome address during the visit and shed light on the vital role played by the unit. He also provided insights into the unit's current deployment, requirements, and various activities they are engaged in.
In addition to these discussions, an eco-friendly initiative was carried out in the form of a plantation drive, aligning with the 'Meri Maati Mera Desh' Campaign. Chief guest DIG Sarah Rizvi planted saplings of Sukhchain trees in the presence of other officers and Jawans.
The visit also witnessed spirited Volleyball and Tug of War matches among the unit's players. The winning team was recognized on the spot, receiving cash rewards and commendation certificates as tokens of appreciation. Furthermore, the DIG and other officers participated in a heartwarming "Bada Khana" with the Jawans, boosting their morale and fostering camaraderie.
Several distinguished guests attended the occasion, including Roop Raj-SSP Principal PTS Kathua, Shivdeep Singh Jamwal SSP Kathua, Paramjit Singh Addl. SP Kathua, Koshal Kumar SP Jail Kathua, Karanvir Singh-SP Dy.CO, Rajinder Singh Rahi-SP Dy.CO, Ashok Kumar-Dy.SP, Inspr. Abhisheak Sharma, Inspr. Varinder Singh, and Inspr. Gulzar Ahmad, among other officers and officials.
