Healthcare employees federation raises urgent concerns in press conference
10/8/2023 10:25:33 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 8: In a recent press conference led by Sushil Sudan, President of the Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation and a member of the Pharmacy Council of India, several critical issues facing healthcare employees have been brought to the forefront. The Federation, representing the interests of medical professionals, has passionately addressed the following pressing concerns:
The Federation has called for the immediate release of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) promotion list, which has been pending for three months. The delay in this crucial announcement is affecting the morale and career progression of healthcare employees.
The prolonged issue of delayed salaries for female multipurpose health workers has remained unresolved for several months, despite repeated representations. The Federation urges the government to take urgent action, including utilizing state funds if necessary, to permanently resolve the salary disbursement issue and alleviate the financial burden on these dedicated workers.
While the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) has undertaken an initiative to relocate employees after five years of service, the Federation has asked the government to consider the unique circumstances of terminally ill employees and those nearing superannuation during such reassignments. They seek compassionate and considerate solutions in these cases.
The Federation emphasizes the importance of timely disbursement of the General Provident Fund (GP Fund) to retiring employees. They insist that the final GP Fund payment should be disbursed within 15 days after an employee's superannuation to ensure that retirees can meet their financial obligations promptly.
The Federation strongly advocates for the appointment of a permanent director within the Health Department. They argue that the presence of an incharge director has resulted in inefficient departmental management, causing dissatisfaction among both the public and employees. Appointing a permanent director is seen as a crucial step toward better governance.
The Federation earnestly implores the government to attentively consider and address these genuine grievances of healthcare employees who play a pivotal role in providing essential services to the community.
The press conference saw the participation of various prominent members, including S. Parfulat Sintigh, Bharat Bhushan Bhagat, Bahadur Singh, Sunil Chauhan, Mukhtiar Kohli, Madan Sharma, Daleep Choudhary, Surjeet Rajan, Kulwant Singh, Ajay Sharma, Saurav Bakshi, Subhash Choudhary, Pawan Singh Jamwal, Rajinder Sharma, Vishal Gorkha, Rajesh Kumar, Vikas Sabharwal, Ajeet Choudhary, Gagan Singh, Ajay Phool, Tuffail Hussain, and Govind Ram Sharma.
