ADGP armed honors J&K Mountain Rescue team for outstanding achievements

SRINAGAR, Oct 9: In a momentous ceremony, S.J.M. Gillani-IPS, Additional Director General of Police (Armed) Jammu & Kashmir, extended his heartfelt felicitations to the dedicated members of the Mountain Rescue Team (MRT) of the J&K Police. The occasion marked their remarkable achievements, including the recognition of their invaluable contribution in providing Advanced Mountain Rescue Tactical Training to the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel.
The J&K MRT received prestigious accolades from the Director General of NDRF, with two DG's Discs accompanied by Commendation Rolls, along with an impressive total of twelve Commendation Rolls. These honors serve as a testament to their exceptional performance and dedication to their duty.
DySP (Sports) APHQ Kuldeep Handoo and Inspector Ram Singh, who is in charge of JKP MRT, were the recipients of the DG's Discs with Commendation Rolls, while several other officials were awarded DG's Commendation Rolls by DG NDRF. These esteemed individuals include:
Head Constable Falail Singh, Head Constable Nazir Ahmad Khan, SgCt Bhushan Kumar, SgCt Sajad Hussain, SgCt Mohd Saleem, SgCt Tahir Ahmad, SgCt Nizam-ud-din, SgCt G.H. Mohd, SgCt Angreze Singh, Constable Rahul Khajuria and Special Police Officer (SPO) Manik Slathia.
SPO Manik Slathia of the J&K Mountain Rescue Team received special commendation for his outstanding achievement. He successfully scaled Mt. Kang Yatse 2 in the Markha Valley of Leh Ladakh, conquering a height of 6250 meters (20500 feet). This remarkable feat was accomplished during an expedition organized by the Mountaineering Association of J&K on August 13th, 2023.
ADGP Armed, S.J.M. Gillani, expressed his warm congratulations to the entire Mountain Rescue Team. He commended their unwavering dedication and encouraged them to continue their efforts with the same zeal, bringing further honor to the J&K Police in the times ahead.
The felicitation ceremony was attended by several distinguished individuals, including Mahmood Ahmed, SSP Staff Officer to ADGP Armed J&K, and Syed Sajad Hussain, Private Secretary to ADGP Armed J&K, along with officials from the J&K Mountain Rescue Team.
These accolades and achievements reflect the commitment and valor of the J&K Mountain Rescue Team, who stand as exemplars of bravery and dedication in serving the community and the nation.
