Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum expresses concern over salary delay and pending dues
10/9/2023 10:24:30 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, Oct 9: An emergency meeting of the Jammu Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF) was convened on October 9, 2023, at its Head Office in Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, under the chairmanship of Sh. Ganesh Khujuria, Chairman of JKTF, Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory. During the meeting, pressing issues affecting employees across various government departments in Jammu and Kashmir UT were discussed. Addressing the meeting, Ganesh Khajuria expressed deep concern and frustration regarding the distressing situation faced by employees due to the apparent indifference of higher authorities in sanctioning and releasing funds necessary for the timely disbursement of monthly salaries to government employees. This delay has placed significant financial burdens on salaried individuals, making it increasingly challenging for them to manage their day-to-day expenses, including medical bills, school fees for their children, household expenditures, and other essential costs required for daily survival.
Furthermore, Khajuria highlighted that G. P. Fund advance, Final G. P. Fund withdrawals, gratuity, commutation pension amounts, and other dues have been pending in government treasuries for an extended period. Despite these bills being cleared by the concerned treasury officers several months ago, higher authorities have yet to release the due amounts to affected employees, particularly those with urgent needs, such as medical treatments, children’s weddings, or educational fees.
Ganesh Khujuria appealed to higher authorities to prioritize these pressing issues and release sufficient funds for timely salary payments. He also urged for the prompt release of G. P. Fund advances, gratuity, and pension commutation amounts without any further delays.
The JKTF is deeply concerned about the hardships faced by employees due to these delays and expects that the relevant authorities will take swift action to alleviate their financial burdens and ensure timely disbursements of dues.
Among those present at the meeting were prominent members of the JKTF, including S. Surat Singh Toofani, Darshan Sharma, Gopal Singh, Rajinder Gupta, Raj Singh, Kuldeep Singh Bandral, Kuldeep Verma, P. D. Singh, Gautam Singh, Bharat Bhushan Sharma, Rajeshwar Singh Sambyal, Narinder Chib, Majeed Choudhary, Kuldeep Sharma, Iqvinder Pal Singh, Shakti Sharma, Dharminder Singh, Daleep Choudhary, Rashpaul Khajuria, Rajneesh Sharma, Ashutosh, Pawan Sharma, Suraj Verma, Gurmeet Singh, Pawan Singh, and many others.
