| Lecture on ‘History, Anatomy of India’s development’ organized | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 4- Government Degree College Bishnah organized a guest lecture on the topic, “History & Anatomy of India’s Development” today. Prof J. R. Panda Director Shivalik Education Trust and former Head, Department of Sociology University of Jammu in his address deliberated on colonial and post colonial history of India’s developmental scenario. He also talked about the present process of globalization which, he characterized, as modern colonialism to accentuate further under development of the present developing society. He was critical of the views of other thinkers who felt that globalization is irreversible. However, he was hopeful of revival of Marxian praxis to challenge the first world hegemony through the present stage of global economic crises. In her welcome address, Prof. Veena Pandita, Principal of the college highlighted various stages of Indian’s development after Independence and emphasized that presently India is now the 4th economic giant of the world. The program was also attended by Prof. M.L. Dogra Former principal GDC Hiranagar, Dr. Tarseem Lal Principal of Government Higher Secondary School (Boys) Bishnah. P.R. Vaid, a social worker and at presently engaged as a librarian in the institution of SET, Sandeep Choudhary Lecturer SET Law School, Kunal Mahajan Managing Director of SET Business School and Prof. Neelu Gupta Lecturer History Government Degree College Bishnah were also present
