GDC Darhal organizes Plogrun to Spread Green Message

DARHAL, Oct 11: In continuation of the events organized under Fit India Freedom Run 4.0, a worldwide campaign to promote fitness and a cleaner India, Government Degree College Darhal (GDC Darhal) conducted a Plogrun organized by the NSS Unit (IMDAD). This unique event saw NSS Volunteers of the College participating actively, collecting waste from the roads while running to create awareness about cleanliness and physical fitness.
Around 40 faculty members and students of the College participated in this meaningful event, which was conducted under the able guidance of Prof Mussaraf Hussain Shah, Principal of GDC Darhal. Prof Shah emphasized the numerous health benefits of plogging, a combination of running and picking up litter. This activity involves various body movements, such as bending, squatting, and stretching, which contribute to a holistic workout experience while maintaining the mental satisfaction of contributing to a cleaner environment.
Dr. Sunil Kumar Mangoch, NSS Program Officer, coordinated the event and expressed the importance of activities like the Plogrun in spreading the message of cleanliness and health. These initiatives also aim to encourage the active participation of residents in the Swachh Survekshan campaign.
The event witnessed the presence of several esteemed staff members, including Dr. Ahsan Ul Rehman Rizvi, Dr. Mohd. Akhlaq, Dr. Imtiaz Hussain Shah, Prof Tahir Mahmood, Dr. Mohd Riaz, Zahid Nabi Bhat, Fayaz Ahmed Bhat, and Dr. Mukhtar Hussain.
GDC Darhal's commitment to promoting a cleaner and healthier India through initiatives like the Plogrun is an inspiring example of community engagement and environmental responsibility.
