NEW DELHI, Oct 11: Union Minister Anurag Thakur unveiled the trailer of "KTB- Bharat Hain Hum," an animated series with two seasons, produced by the Central Bureau of Communication under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Graphiti Studios. The series consists of 52 episodes, each running for 11 minutes, featuring stories from the Indian Freedom struggle from the 1500s to 1947. The series is hosted by the iconic animated characters Krish, Trish, and Balti boy and is created by the duo of Munjal Shroff and Tilakraj Shetty from Graphiti Studios.
In his address, the Minister emphasized that the series is an educational effort to inform the youth about lesser-known but significant contributors to the freedom struggle, individuals who were often overlooked by past educational systems. He highlighted that the series aims to inspire younger generations by sharing the stories of people whose efforts shaped modern India. Moreover, by releasing in multiple languages, including foreign languages, the series will transcend language barriers and convey these stories to a global audience.
Thakur announced that the animated series will be simultaneously broadcast on Doordarshan, Netflix, and Amazon Prime-an unprecedented effort. The series also focuses on the significant contributions of women and tribal freedom fighters in the struggle against foreign colonizers.
The Minister further revealed that the series would be screened for all Parliamentarians during the upcoming session.
Secretary of Information and Broadcasting, Shri Apurva Chandra, noted the historic significance of this animated series. It marks the first time the Central Bureau of Communication, an expenditure body, ventures into revenue generation.
Munjal Shroff, one of the creators, shared that an extensive team of over a thousand individuals contributed to the series. He highlighted the scale of workmanship in the production, noting that a typical animation show features around 25 to 30 characters and 40 backgrounds, whereas a single episode of "Bharat Hain Hum" includes 50 to 100 characters and an average of 50 backgrounds.
