Early Times Report

JAMMU, Oct 11: Additional Deputy Commissioner, Sandeep Seointra on Wednesday presided over a meeting to finalise the arrangements for the Chhari Yatra to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi from Jammu.
The meeting saw the participation of prominent members and organisers of the yatra and discussions centred on the Chhari Yatra’s route within the city. The three organising groups are set to embark on this sacred journey through the city on October 14, commencing after 1 pm. Starting from Jammu, the yatra will culminate at Katra. In the meeting, the specific routes for each group were determined, starting from Hari Singh Park, Jewel Chowk and MAM Stadium. Vital facilities for the yatra route, such as the provision of drinking water, parking facilities, traffic management and mobile toilets, were thoroughly discussed and finalised.
Deliberations on traffic management encompassed the identification and mitigation of potential traffic congestion points. The ADC issued strict instructions to ensure that all necessary facilities, including drinking water and mobile toilets, are readily available at designated locations. Additionally, the availability of ambulances with medical teams and firefighting personnel was ensured under his directives. Tehsildar Nagrota and Tehsildar Jammu were appointed as Nodal Officers for the entire process, charged with coordinating efforts with the organising parties to ensure a smooth and well-organised Chhari Yatra. Officers in attendance at the meeting included SP Jammu North, Kulbir Handa; Assistant Commissioner General, Manisha; Health Officer JMC, as well as officers from Power Development Department and PHE departments, among others.
