Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 11: Famous Bollywood actress and a popular star of yester-years, Asha Parekh has asked the makers of “Kashmir Files” how much money did they spent on welfare of Kashmiri Hindus living in J&K after earning Rs 400 crore.
In an interview to a wire agency Parekh said, “Yes, people watched The Kashmir Files. The producer of the film made Rs 400 crore. From that how much money did they give for the welfare of the Hindus living in Jammu and Kashmir? Those who don’t have water, electricity. How much money did the producer give to them?”
Asked about the controversies surrounding films like The Kashmir Files and The Kerala Story, Asha said, “I haven’t seen those films, so I can’t comment on the controversies surrounding them.”
Asked whether such movies should be made, she replied, “If people are watching them, then they should watch them.”
Pertinently, the Kashmir Files, written and directed by Vivek Agnihotri, depicted the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley in the early stages of the armed insurgency around 1990. The film was produced by Vivek, along with his wife Pallavi Joshi, Tej Narayan Agarwal, and Abhishek Agarwal.
