DDC, SSP convene public darbar at Majalta

UDHAMPUR, FEBRUARY 04 (INFO)- To take stock of multifaceted problems being faced by the people of Tehsil Majalta of district Udhampur, the District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Mr. Ajay Khajuria accompanied by SSP Udhampur, Mr. Surinder Gupta convened a one-day public darbar at Majalta, yesterday.
Chief Planning Officer, Udhampur, Rakesh Jamwal, Assistant Commissioner, Development, Pran Singh, Chief Medical Officer, B.B.Sharma, Chief Agriculture Officer, Pratap Singh, Tehsil Officers of all departments and local Tehsildar were present on the occasion.
The problems and demands put forth by the people included opening of required Tehsil level offices at Majalta, opening of Degree College, Veterinary Centre at Sail-Kouri Ber and ITI, up-gradation of PHC to Sub District Hospital level, posting of adequate staff in Health and Educational institutions, speeding up work on Majalta-Tajoor road, compensation to land owners acquired due to construction of Punara- Dhamma road, repair of Mansar road, drinking water and power supply to left out habitations of the tehsil, supply of HYV seeds and pesticides, fruit plants to farmers, holding of awareness camps about different government sponsored schemes.
After listening the problems of the people patiently, the DDC directed the officers concerned to initiate earnest steps in solving the problems of the people of the area which fall in their competence under intimation to his office. He also stated that within two months he would again visit the area and review the progress achieved by different departments which have come up for consideration in public darbar. He also informed the public that they would now onwards get their State Subject Certificates at their Tehsil Headquarter.
The DDC also convened an officers meeting after holding public darbar at Majalta and deliberated in length about the problems brought by the public to his notice with officers concerned. He also instructed the Tehsil Officers of different departments of Ramnagar to spare some time for conducting visit of Majalta tehsil every week to look into and solve the problems of the people till all Tehsil offices are not opened at Majalta. The DDC also inspected Agriculture seed farm, Vermi compost units of farmers, site for construction of a check dam at a Nullah near Majalta.
Speaking on the occasion, the Superintendent of Police said that people are the eyes and ears of the administration and the Police. To keep administration and police apprised about the day to day developments taking place in their respective areas. The people will have to keep better rappot with them. The efficiency of Police is co-related to the cooperation extended to Police by law abiding citizens, he maintained. He assured the people that the Police was at their service to solve their genuine problems and related issues.
