GDC Sidhra organised Kalash yatra under “Meri Mitti Mera Desh” campaign

Jammu, Oct 12: “Meri Maati Mera Desh” envisions a unified celebration of India’s soil and valour, commemorating the nation’s journey of freedom and progress. The program is aimed to instill national pride amongst students and also inspire them to conserve India’s cherished heritage. GDC Sidhra organised an event marking “Meri maati mera desh” Campaign. NSS volunteers studying in the college brought mitti with them from their places and a amrit kalash was set up in the campus in which students collected the soil (mitti). NSS volunteers also took panch pran pledge while putting soil in amrit kalash.
After that a yatra was taken out from the college campus to the surrounding area of the college in which students carried the kalash with them. Students of the college along with NSS volunteers participated in yatra.
Principal of the College while speaking in the event explained the meaning and importance of panch pran pledge. He stressed that all students should follow the points mentioned in the pledge. He also asked the students to cherish the rich heritage of our nation. Faculty members of the college also participated in the yatra.
The event was organised by Dr. Mehmood Ahmed, NSS Program Officer, Prof. Deepa Kak, Dr. Anu Sharma along with other members of NSS unit under the guidance of Principal of the College, Dr. B. B Anand
