GDC organizes “Amrit Kalash Yatra” under Meri Matti Mera Desh

Ramgarh, Oct 12: As “Meri Matti, Mera Desh” Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is going on across the country with great zeal and enthusiasm to celebrate India’s Independence.
To become a part of this celebration NSS unit ‘Prabha’ of Government Degree College Ramgarh organized “Amrit Kalash Yatra” campaign on 12 th of October.
The event aimed at awakening the spirit of Patriotism and undying love for the motherland in every citizen of India. College Students collected soil from their respective homes. In which the NSS volunteers played a vital role by carrying soil with them and assembled in College premises to fill it in the “Amrit Kalash”. Thereafter the NSS volunteer marched towards the college adopted village Kalah in the form of rally by holding “Amrit Kalash” in their hands to commemorate the innumerable sacrifices made for the freedom of the country and to realize the value of freedom. The entire program was organized under the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, esteemed Principal of the College. The principal said that there is huge relevance of such programmes in the present scenario that will instill a sense of National Pride and Patriotism and also inspire the young learners to participated in the progress of the country. In this programme all the students, faculty members and non-teaching staff took the pledge “Panch Pran”. The proceeding of the pledge were conducted by NSS Volunteer, Kamini Chib, Semester-III .
The event concluded at BDO office Ramgarh where the NSS volunteers handed over the Amrit Kalash to the Block Development Officer Mr. Mukesh Sharma.
Dr. Shamsher Lal (NSS PO) coordinated the event and appreciated the efforts of the NSS volunteers.
The faculty members present on the occasion were Dr. Aditi Khajuria, Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Prof. Sandeep Kumari, Dr. Shamsher Lal , Prof. Risha Kumari, Dr. Ekta Rani, Dr. Paramjeet Kour, Dr. Shivali Choudhary, Ms. Priya Sharma, Mr. Sunil Kumar and Mr. Anil Sharma.
