| Over 55000 devotees pay obeisance at Shiv Khori during Jan 09 | | | Early Times Report REASI, FEBRUARY 4 - District Development Commissioner, Reasi Mr Sanjeev Verma who is also the Vice Chairman of Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board has said that over 55194 devotees from with in and various parts of the country visited the historic Shiv Khori Shrine cave, the number of devotees who visited the Shiv Khori Shrine cave was just 28,879 pilgrims during January last year thus registering an increase of over 26315 pilgrims. Mr. Verma further disclosed that this shrine cave is emerging now as the second largest pilgrimage destination in the Reasi district after Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Cave and other pilgrimage destinations of the district like Aghar Jitto, Nav Mata, Baba Danser, Dera Baba, Siad Baba, Kalka Mata / Mahadev temple Reasi,, Chenana Devita Salal, Ziarat at Simbal Choa and Ziarat Jandi Morh, are also attracting thousands of devotees every month. The Shiv Khori Shrine Cave is situated in Sanger hills just three kms away from village Ransoo in Pouni block of the Reasi district which is about 130 kms away from Jammu, 120 kms from Udhampur,80 kms from Katra 50 kms from Reasi and 25 kms from Pouni. Buses and light vehicles can easily be had from all these places to reach at the Shiv Khori shrine cave. Over 1000 to 1500 pilgrims are visiting daily at the Shiv Khori Shrine Cave these days. Elaborate arrangements of security, drinking water, power supply, medicare and parchi system are already available right from Ransoo the base camp of Shiv Khori Shrine Cave to Shrine site for the visiting devotees. Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board constituted by the government is making all out efforts to provide more and more facilities to the visiting pilgrims and number of development projects have been also taken in hand to provide infrastructural facilities. Tile Work on 3 kms long track from village Ransoo to Shiv Khori Shrine Cave is nearing completion besides work on development of parks and garden, electrification of cave on modern techniques, plantation of medicinal plants all along the way, shelter sheds with toilet facilities, 5 multi storied building near the cave are also in speedy progress which would provide more facilities to the pilgrims through out the year. State Tourism Department is also taking keen interest for the development of this area as a sound tourist resort and a Tourist Reception Centre is already functioning at village Ransoo for the facility of visiting devotees. Besides the Ransoo area is also being developed as per map already designed by the Chief Town Planner, Jammu to avoid haphazard construction.
