| Pandey discuses Raghunath Bazar heritage project | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, FEBRUARY 04 -Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Mr Sudhanshu Pandey convened a meeting of various lined departments and members of the Raghunath Bazar Business Association to discuss the issues related to improvement and up-gradation of Raghunath Bazar as heritage bazaar. He said that the proposed project aims at restoring the glory of the bazaar by giving it a heritage look so that the number of tourists visiting Raghunath Temple increases and boosts the tourism and economy of the city. Addressing the meeting, Mr Pandey stressed on the need for maximizing the public participation in the developmental plan so as to make the project sustainable. He asked the Association to work on the modalities of forming the society, under which the project implementation can be taken up on war-footing in collaboration with the various departments. He said that the decision regarding development of the bazaar would be taken only in close liaison with the stakeholders of the area so that there is minimum inconvenience to the business fraternity and the general public. Earlier, Director Tourism, Jammu Mrs Sarita Chouhan, presented the project report giving a view of the physical and financial aspects underlying this project.
