5-day course on "Investigation of Cyber Crime" successfully concludes at SK Police Academy

UDHAMPUR, Oct 14: The S.K Police Academy Udhampur successfully concluded a 5-day course on "Investigation of Cyber Crime" sponsored by the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi. The course commenced on October 10, 2023, and was the first of its kind sponsored by I4C and organized at the S.K Police Academy Udhampur.
The course brought together 27 police officers, ranging from Sub-Inspectors to Deputy Superintendents of Police, from different states and union territories. Participants included officers from Haryana, Kerala, Gujarat, the Union Territory of New Delhi, and Jammu and Kashmir Police.
The primary objective of the course was to enhance the capacity of investigating officers to comprehensively and systematically address the increasing challenge of cybercrime in the virtual space. The course included extensive discussions, deliberations, and practical demonstrations on various types of cybercrimes, such as Phishing, Vishing, Cyberbullying, Email Bombing, SMS Bombing, Analysis of CDRs/IPDRs, IP Address tracking, IT Act and its Amendments, Bank Frauds, Mobile Forensics, Email Tracing, and electronic data collection and preservation.
Participants also learned about standard operating procedures for seizing computers and mobile devices, Email Forensics, Steganography, Cryptography, and Hashing techniques.
The valedictory function for the course was attended by Rajinder Kumar Gupta, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police and Deputy Director (Indoor/Trainings) at SKPA, who emphasized the importance of staying updated with modern techniques for handling cybercrimes, especially for first responders.
The course featured distinguished speakers, including Er. Neeraj Dubey from GCET Jammu, Dr. Gaurav Varshney from IIT Jammu, Gagandeep Singh from the Cyber Police Station in Jammu, and Nayeem Abass Hamdani, a Cyber consultant for J&K Police.
The S.K Police Academy Udhampur expressed gratitude to all participants, faculty members, and sponsors for the successful conclusion of this important course on cybercrime investigation.
