MP Khatana meets LG, discusses unemployment, pending selections

JAMMU, Oct 14: Bharatiya Janata Party MP Rajya Sabha(Nominated) Er. Gulam Ali Khatana today called on LG Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha and discussed various issues of public importance here today including problems of unemployed youth, aspirants JKPSI/JEs, selected Compilers in Finance department and JSA waitlist candidates.
He sought LG Manoj Sinha's personal intervention to resolve the pending issues and new avenues for jobs in the Union Territory.
MP Gulam Ali Khatana appreciated LG Manoj Sinha's personal commitment to bring Jammu and Kashmir out of the morass created by previous regimes headed by Congress, National Conference and PDP for last 70 years and stressed for creating job avenues for the unemployed youth.
He said that 100s of delegation youth hailing from various regions of the state meet his and discuss their concerns and the prolonged delay in the publication of the recruitment exam results, appointment letters to the selected candidates and operation of waitlist. These aspirants have been eagerly awaiting their results for many years, which has left them in a state of anxiety and uncertainty about their future careers.
MP Gulam Ali further appreciated LG govt decision to provide political reservation to OBCs in Local bodies and Panchayati Raj Institutions. He said that this would address the long pending demands of OBC community. He further stressed the need to change the nomenclature of the community from Other Social Castes to OBC.
MP Gulam Ali also discussed the issue of opening new Gujjar Hostels in uncovered areas so that atleast 10K girls and boys each of the community should be accommodated. He also stressed the need for playgrounds, security, and other basic facilities like computer lab etc. in the existing hostels.
LG Manoj Sinha assured to address the issues of selectees and result seekers in a time bound manner and issued instructions to the concerned for the same. He also assured to look into other issues on priority.
