Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 16: The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit at Government Degree College Sidhra continued its commitment to cleanliness and sanitation by organizing a cleanliness drive as part of the Swachhata Hi Sewa: Special Campaign 3.0, initiated by the Government of India. This campaign aims to institutionalize the culture of cleanliness and promote the importance of sanitation and hygiene throughout the country.
The NSS Unit, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), orchestrated a cleanliness drive in and around the college premises on October 16, 2023. These initiatives serve as invaluable opportunities for students to contribute to society and play a vital role in spreading awareness about the significance of cleanliness.
The core objective of this campaign is to encourage community participation, emphasize the importance of cleanliness, and underscore that maintaining sanitation is a collective responsibility. NSS volunteers from various semesters of the college actively participated in the cleanliness drive, displaying their enthusiasm and dedication to the cause.
Dr. B. B. Anand, the Principal of the college, provided invaluable guidance and support for the event. The program's successful execution was made possible through the active assistance and coordination of Dr. Mehmood Ahmed, the NSS Program Officer, as well as other members of the NSS Unit. Dr. Adil Rashid Malik, the Physical Training Instructor (PTI) at the college, also played a significant role in the organization of the event.
These initiatives not only contribute to the physical cleanliness of the college and its surroundings but also foster a sense of responsibility among students and the broader community. By participating in such activities, students are empowered to make a positive impact on society, thus reinforcing the importance of cleanliness and sanitation in our daily lives.
