Athlete from GDC Udhampur Secures Gold Medal, Receives College’s Felicitation

Udhampur, Oct 18: In a simple yet heartfelt ceremony, Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta, the Principal of Govt. Degree College Udhampur, along with the college’s sports committee and other staff members, extended a warm felicitation to athlete Shamshair Singh, a student of BA Semester 5. Shamshair Singh clinched the Gold medal in the Inter-collegiate Cross-country race held at Jammu University.
The felicitation ceremony took place in the Principal’s office, and it was attended by members of the sports committee, including Dr. Ajay Kumar Sharma, Dr. Firdous Ahmad Itoo, Dr. Rippy Bawa, Prof. Anil Kumar Thapa, and senior faculty member Dr. Pankaj Sharma.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Patron Prof. Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta expressed his elation at the exemplary display of sportsmanship by the college’s athletes. He extended his best wishes to all the participants in other events scheduled at Jammu University. Prof. Dr. Gupta commended the dedication and hard work of the Physical Training Instructor, Dr. Gawhar Ahmad, and the robust support system of the sports committee.
The event concluded with Dr. Ajay Kumar Sharma expressing gratitude to the Patron and all those present during the felicitation ceremony. The event celebrated the athlete’s achievement and highlighted the college’s commitment to fostering sporting excellence among its students.
